Ani Maldjian

Armenian-American Soprano Ani Maldjian has been described as a “remarkable soprano“, with a voice that is “richly mature and full of lyric nuance“, and her singing “elegant, commanding, brilliant, fresh and strong…definitely a name to watch as she rises through the ranks of young sopranos.” Her professional debut as the title role in Frid’s one-woman opera, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, received much critical acclaim throughout Southern California and Austin, Texas.  Ms. Maldjian began the 2010-2011 season with a reprisal of the role of Anne Frank for a touring production in Ireland and returned to Seattle Opera to sing the role of Papagena DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE after making her mainstage debut with the company as Greek Maiden and First Priestess IPHIGENIE EN TAURIDE.  In addition to making her international debut in Hatzis’ Light from the Cross in Athens, Greece that season, Ms. Maldjian also gave her first performances of Tytania A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM with Festival Opera Walnut Creek and participated in a production of THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN with the New York Philharmonic.  In the 2012-2013 season Ms. Maldjian reprises the role of Clorinda LA CENERENTOLA with Seattle Opera and appears as the featured vocalist in Festival of the Arts’ 80th annual “Pageant of the Masters” production in Laguna Beach.
