Szymon Wach

Szymon WachPolish bass-baritone Szymon Wach is emerging as a young artist of increasing prestige and reputation.  In his young career he has already appeared in such venues as the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House, Barbican Hall, Glyndebourne’s Ebert Room, Eastbourne’s Meads Music Festival, the Bath International Music Festival, the Wroclaw Opera, and Riga’s Latvian National Opera.  An alumnus of some of the world’s finest training programs, Mr. Wach’s credits include San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Opera Course, and Glyndebourne’s Jerwood Young Artists Programme.

Roles Mr. Wach has performed include the Count in Donizetti’s FRANCESCA DI FOIX, Banco MACBETH, Gremin and Zaretsky EUGENE ONEGIN, Ferrando IL TROVATORE, the Old Gypsy ALEKO, Leporello DON GIOVANNI, Bartolo LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Germano LA SCALA DI SETA, Garrido LA NAVARRAISE, Golaud PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE, Ratcliffe BILLY BUDD, Quince A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, Mr Coyle OWEN WINGRAVE, Nick Shadow THE RAKE’S PROGRESS, and the Fireater / Ape Judge / Big Green Fisherman / Ringmaster / Farmer ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO (Jonathan Dove).

He recently triumphed in the leading role of Blinval in Donizetti’s I PAZZI PER PROGETTO at the Guildhall School, Sam UN BALLO IN MASCHERA with Iford Arts, Escamillo CARMEN in Cambridge, Don Alfonso COSÌ FAN TUTTE for Opera Lyrica, London, Count Ceprano RIGOLETTO for Nevill Holt Opera and Leporello DON GIOVANNI with San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program.  He also was a Bass Ensemble cover in the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden’s 2016 production of THE NOSE.
