Korean lyric soprano Jinwon Park continues to enjoy an international career that has taken her from Asia to Europe and North America. She made an acclaimed American stage debut as the title-role MADAMA BUTTERFLY with Knoxville Opera, and has since performed in Austria, Germany, South Korea, and China. Equally at home in the concert hall, Ms. Park’s concert repertoire includes Beethoven Ninth Symphony, Handel Messiah and Haydn Creation. Recently she was invited by the South Korean Government to perform in concerts celebrating the 10th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and China.
Among the awards Ms. Park has earned are the Audience Award at the New York Lyric Opera Vocal Competition, 4th Prize at the Ferruccio Tagliavini International Competition (Graz, Austria) and placing as a finalist at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. She has participated in masterclasses with such master teachers as Mirella Freni, Barbara Bonney and Marjana Lipovsek.
Ms. Park began her career at the Mozarteum in Salzburg where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice, a Master of Music in Opera and further graduate qualifications in Lied and Oratorio. She was awarded the Austrian Government’s Ministry of Culture music scholarship and graduated from the Mozarteum with Honors.
