Dublin born Michelle recently performed and created the role of Blonde Frau in the world premiere of Yasutaki Inamori’s WIR AUS GLAS at the Münchener Biennale and Tischlerei for Deutsche Oper Berlin in June 2018. Other work for Deutsche Oper Berlin includes a concert performance of operatic excerpts including Cherubino LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and Hansel HANSEL AND GRETEL, Hotel Guest/Bettlerin in the Graham Vick production of DEATH IN VENICE. In 2017 she returned to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden to reprise the role of Ninetta LES VEPRES SICILIENNES conducted by Maurizio Benini and directed by Stefan Herheim. As a guest artist at the ROH Michelle has also covered the roles of Pisana I DUE FOSCARI, Third Nymph RUSALKA, Third Innocent in Birtwistle’s THE MINOTAUR and Anna in the David McVicar Production of LES TROYENS. Other roles include Lola in the Cork Opera House production of CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA conducted by John O’Brien.

Other performances include Dorabella COSI FAN TUTTE for Lismore Opera Festival 2016, Ireland and the Windsor Festival, Polly Peacham THE BEGGAR’S OPERA for the European Opera Centre with the Liverpool Philharmonic and Cornelia GIULIO CESARE conducted by Richard Hetherington for the COR for the 2013 Bloomsbury Festival. For English National Opera Michelle has performed the roles of Feklusha KATYA KABANOVA which was broadcast by the BBC, and Cretan Woman in Katie Mitchell’s production of IDOMENEO. Also for ENO, Michelle has covered Third Lady THE MAGIC FLUTE, Madam Larina in Deborah Warner’s production of EUGENE ONEGIN and Vlasta in the ENO UK premiere of Weinberg’s The Passenger. Michelle was a member of the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus in the summer of 2011 and performed in DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NÜRNBERG and DON GIOVANNI. For British Youth Opera Michelle has performed the roles of Suzy LA RONDINE, and covered the roles of Nancy ALBERT HERRING and Madam Larina EUGENE ONEGIN.

Michelle is also in demand as a concert singer and has performed recitals at both the National Concert Hall, Dublin, and the Waterfront Hall Belfast. Oratorio performances include Mendelssohn’s Elijah for the Jubilate Choir Dublin and for the Orchestra Vitae, Wokingham. Other concert appearances include an opera gala for the LGSO at Milton Court, Barbican, and a recital featuring repertoire from The American Songbook at the NCH, Dublin. Other oratorio experience includes Mozart’s Requiem at Saint Martin in the Fields, Rossini’s Petit Messe Solenelle at Odiham, Hampshire, and Handel’s Messiah for Putney Choral Society. Michelle is a Britten-Pears Young Artist and performed the part of Mystery The Faery Queen, at Snape Maltings. Michelle studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and has also been a Wexford Festival Opera Young Artist.

Michelle is also a jazz singer and songwriter and has released her own album of acoustic jazz and soul inspired songs. She is currently working on a new album which she plans to release in 2019. She recently performed a sold-out concert for Jazz Radio Berlin at the Orange Room, The Ellington Hotel, Berlin.
