concert at major venues throughout the country including the Barbican Hall\u201a Queen Elizabeth Hall\u201a South Bank, London, the Royal Albert Hall (including the BBC Proms)\u201a St John\u2019s\u201a Smith Square\u201a and the Bridgewater Hall\u201a Manchester.\u00a0 Performances have included appearances with Chelsea Opera Group, the Choir of King\u2019s College\u201a Cambridge\u201a and the Hall\u00e9 Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>His extensive concert repertoire includes Beethoven <em>Symphony No 9<\/em>, Brahms <em>Ein deutsches Requiem,<\/em> Elgar <em>The Kingdom He has appeared on the concert platform with major orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, The London Philharmonic Orchestra and the The RTE National Symphony Orchestra<\/p>\n<p>Simon Thorpe\u2019s recordings include Second Mate \/ Arthur Jones <strong><em>BILLY BUDD<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>with Kent Nagano and the Hall\u00e9 Orchestra for Erato and Duclou <strong><em>ZAZ\u00c0<\/em><\/strong>(Ruggero Leoncavallo) with Maurizio Benini and the BBC Symphony Orchestra for Opera Rara.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Tasmania\u201a Simon Thorpe studied at the Guildhall School of Music\u201a where he was awarded the Harold Rosenthal Prize.
