Recent engagements include the role of Zita\u00a0<strong><em>GIANNI SCHICCHI<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 for Festival Lyrique International de Belle Ile, Auntie (cover)<strong><em>\u00a0PETER GRIMES<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with the Canadian Opera Company, Dvorak<strong><em>\u00a0Stabat Mater<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with the Toronto Philharmonia and Lady Jane\u00a0<strong><em>ROSE MARIE<\/em><\/strong>, in the inaugural production for Wish Opera.<\/p>\n<p>Her diverse repertoire includes Berta<strong><em>\u00a0IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 for Festival Lyrique en Mer, Belle-Ile-en-Mer, Zia Principessa<strong><em>\u00a0SUOR ANGELICA\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for Opera York, Dritte Magd<strong><em>\u00a0ELEKTRA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with Vancouver Opera, Die Hexe<strong><em>\u00a0HANSEL UND GRETEL<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with Wexford Festival Opera, Mistress Quickly<strong><em>\u00a0FALSTAFF\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and Old Lady\u00a0<strong><em>CANDIDE<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 with SOLT and Carol\u00a0<strong><em>TURTLE WAKES\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>for Calgary Opera\/Quest Theatre. Other favourite roles include Czipra\u00a0<strong><em>THE GYPSY BARON<\/em><\/strong>, Ruth\u00a0<strong><em>PIRATES OF PENZANCE<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and Katisha\u00a0<strong><em>THE MIKADO<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with Toronto Opera Theatre and Symphony Niagara. Ms. Overes has been also involved in a number of workshops and performances with Tapestry Opera.<\/p>\n<div class=\"toggle-box\">\n<p>Concert appearances include Mahler<strong><em>\u00a0Symphony No. 2<\/em><\/strong>, Verdi<strong><em>\u00a0Messa da Requiem,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Mozart\u00a0<strong><em>Requiem<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><em>Coronation Mass<\/em><\/strong>, Handel<strong><em>\u00a0Messiah<\/em><\/strong>, Haydn\u00a0<strong><em>Lord Nelson Mass<\/em><\/strong>, Vivaldi<strong><em>\u00a0Gloria<\/em><\/strong>, Mendelssohn<strong><em>\u00a0Elijah<\/em><\/strong>, and Bach\u00a0<strong><em>Magnificat<\/em><\/strong>for performing organizations throughout Canada. She has also toured with a Gilbert and Sullivan Gala for Toronto Philharmonia.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Overes\u2019 appearances in Music Theatre include Fraulein Schweiger in\u00a0<strong><em>THE SOUND OF MUSIC<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for both the award-winning Mirvish production as well as the Stratford Festival, Wardrobe Mistress\/ Confidante\u00a0<strong><em>THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0on tour with Live Entertainment in Canada, Sister Hubert\u00a0<strong><em>NUNSENSE<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for Thousand Islands Playhouse, and Sister Hubert<strong><em>\u00a0NUNSENSE<\/em><\/strong>for La Diligence Montreal.\u00a0 A native of North Vancouver, B.C., she attended the University of Victoria where she received a Bachelor of Music degree and continued on to McGill University where she obtained a Masters of Music.
