Timothy McDevitt

American baritone Timothy McDevitt has established himself among the industry’s most versatile young performers of today.  His unique ability to thrive in the worlds of both opera and musical theatre is clearly represented by frequent engagements on both sides of the Atlantic.  Last season brought him to Ash Lawn Opera as Lt. Cable SOUTH PACIFIC, Seneca in Jonathan Dawe’s NERO AND THE FALL OF LEHMAN BROTHERS at Columbia University’s Italian Academy with the Ensemble Echappe, Enrico in Haydn’s L’ISOLA DISABITATA with the American Classical Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall, Lt. Wright The Secret Garden at both Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and Baltimore Center Stage and Laura Karpman’s WILDE TALES for Glimmerglass Opera.  Various concert appearances include the Manhattan Theatre Club Gala alongside Meryl Streep, Wall to Wall Schwartz at Symphony Space, the New York City Ballet and Garrison Keilor’s Prairie Home Companion for National Public Radio (NPR). Other recent performances include Cole Porter’s The New Yorkers for Encores! at New York City Center, Colonel Piquard THE DREYFUS AFFAIR with Ensemble for the Romantic Century at BAM, Happy LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST with the New York City Opera and Riff WEST SIDE STORY with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Other highlights from last season include Bernstein’s Mass with Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra, his off-Broadway debut in Lady Be Good at NY City Center Encores! (cast album released by Sh-k-Boom Records), Beloved Renegade with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, the world premiere of Marie Incontrera’s song cycle Do No Harm with the Moirae Ensemble, Robert Manno’s DO NOT GO GENTLE at the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice, and performances with the Barbrashop Quartet, a new musical cabaret developed by RJ Productions.
