Tyler PutnamBass Tyler Putnam is quickly gaining international recognition as a young artist of great promise. His 2017 engagements include Zuniga CARMEN with Central City Opera and Masetto DON GIOVANNI with Opera Orlando.  Engagements in 2016 included José Castro LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST for Opera Omaha, Chief of Police EVANGELINE with the Longfellow Chorus, Don Magnifico LA CENERENTOLA with Salt Marsh Opera, Luther Billis SOUTH PACIFIC with St. Petersburg Opera and Pistola FALSTAFF with Manitoba Opera. Upcoming engagements include concerts with Gulfshore Opera, Leporello DON GIOVANNI with Geneva Light Opera and Babayan FIGARO 90210 with Ragman Ventures LLC.

In 2015 he returned to The Santa Fe Opera as a Second Year Apprentice Artist performing the role of Thomas COLD MOUNTAIN and appearing in RIGOLETTO and SALOME“Tyler Putnam sang with knowing power as the Second Soldier” – Opera Today.  He also developed and created the role of Kobun in workshop sessions for Mason Bates’s THE (R)EVOLUTION OF STEVE JOBS which will receive its premiere at Santa Fe Opera in 2017.

Other roles that season included Bartolo FIGARO 90210 with Dartmouth College, Sarastro THE MAGIC FLUTE with both Raylynmor and Salt Marsh Operas, the Imperial Commissioner MADAMA BUTTERFLY with Salt Marsh Opera, the Monk DON CARLOS with Sarasota Opera, and a debut with the Omaha Symphony as the bass soloist in Dvořák’s Stabat Mater and Handel’s Messiah.
