Thomas GlennGrammy Award winning tenor, Thomas Glenn enjoys a favourable reputation as a creative interpreter of bel canto and Classical period repertoire as well as modern works.

His most frequent operatic roles include Count Almaviva in Rossini’s IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, Lindoro L’ITALIANA IN ALGERI, Ferrando in Mozart’s COSÌ FAN TUTTE, and the Evangelist in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.  He created the role of Robert Wilson in John Adams’ DOCTOR ATOMIC and continues to premiere new works by composers like Jack Perla and Tarik O’Regan.

Recent and upcoming operatic engagements include Nemorino L’ELISIR D’AMORE with Opera Idaho, McAlpine FILUMENA with Calgary Opera, Charles Mair LOUIS RIEL with the Canadian Opera Company, the Shepherd OEDIPUS REX with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London, Tamino THE MAGIC FLUTE for Opera Idaho, Goro MADAMA BUTTERFLY, Don Basilio LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and Alfred DIE FLEDERMAUS for Calgary Opera, the Evangelist in full staged performance of St. Matthew Passion with Gulfshore Opera, Lindoro L’ITALIANA IN ALGERI for the Opera Company of Middlebury, Ernesto in Donizetti’s DON PASQUALE with Intermountain Opera, Sandy in Peter Maxwell Davies’ THE LIGHTHOUSE with Opera Parallèle, and Gherardo GIANNI SCHICCHI, Beppe PAGLIACCI, Jonathan Dale SILENT NIGHT and Dr. Blind DIE FLEDERMAUS, all for Cincinnati Opera.  On the concert platform Thomas has recently sung the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and the title role of Bernstein’s CANDIDE with the Oakland East Bay Symphony and Handel’s Messiah with the International Music Foundation in Chicago.
