Born and raised in Mexico, Iván is currently the Assistant Conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (OFUNAM).
Future plans for the 14/15 season include Il viaggio a Reims for the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Italy; Gianni Schicchi for Teatro Bellas Artes; Die Fledermaus for Centro Cultural Bicentenario; Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Teatro del Bicentenario and various concerts for OFUNAM.
He made his opera conducting debut in 2010 at the age of 19 with Le Nozze di Figaro for Monterrey Opera Company and from 2011 – 2013 he served as the Assistant Conductor at the Teatro Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Whilst there he conducted the Mexican premiere of Le comte Ory (November 2012) as well as L’elisir d’amore (May 2012) and Bastien and Bastienne (August 2012). He assisted on Madama Butterfly, I Pagliacci, Die Frau ohne Schatten, La Traviata, Nabucco and Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Other operas he has conducted include Il Maestro di Capella and La Serva Padrona (Monterrey Opera Company – May 2010), La Bohème (Instituto Politécnico Nacional – November 2012), Madama Butterfly (Teatro del Bicentenario – April 2013), La Traviata (Mexico State Opera Company – May 2013), Aida (Instituto Politécnico Nacional – November 2013), Amahl and the Night Visitors (Guanajato Symphony Orchestra – January 2013), Die Zauberflöte (Bellas Artes Opera Company – February 2014), and El Gato con Botas (Bellas Artes State Opera Copmany – December 2013).
He is equally at home on the concert platform having conducted the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de México, Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM, Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco, Orquesta Sinfónica de Míneria, Orquesta y Coro del Teatro de Bellas Artes, Orquesta del Estado de Puebla, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Orquesta Carlos Chávez and Orquesta Juvenile del Estado de México
Born in 1990 in Guanajuato, Mexico, López Reynoso studied violin under Gellya Dubrova, piano under Alexander Pashkov, choral conducting under Jorge Medina and orchestra conducting under Gonzalo Romeu. He has since taken part in numerous masterclasses with Carlos Fernández Aransay, Jean Paul Penin, Jan Latham Koenig and Avi Ostrovsky amongst others. He has also served as assistant conductor under Niksa Bareza, Ivan Anguelov, Denis Vlasenko and Guido Maria Guida.
