American soprano Hanna Brammer is quickly establishing herself as a sought after talent within the opera world. Recent engagements included her debut with Mississippi Opera as Gilda RIGOLETTO, Lauretta GIANNI SCHICCHI with Salt Marsh Opera and a return to Sarasota Opera for Micaela CARMEN and Nuri in D’Albert’s TIEFLAND. She will join Sarasota Opera again in 2019 as Pamina DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and return to Salt Marsh Opera for Musetta LA BOHEME.
Last year Hanna made her Opera Memphis debut as Micaëla LA TRAGÉDIE DE CARMEN, covered Norina in Donizetti’s DON PASQUALE and covered Violetta LA TRAVIATA with Sarasota Opera and performed Penelope in the world-premiere of Richard Auldon Clark’s HAPPY BIRTHDAY WANDA JUNE with Indianapolis Opera. Other recent engagements include Rose in Kurt Weill’s STREET SCENE with Opera North, Johanna in Alpine Theater Project’s production of SWEENEY TODD, soprano soloist in EMERGENCE with Nashville Ballet and Soprano I in Philip Glass’ HYDROGEN JUKEBOX and Mabel THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE with Nashville Opera, where her reviews included “Brammer’s gorgeous soprano rings out with exceptional clarity in ‘Poor Wand’ring One.’ Don’t miss the opportunity to see this promising young artist in action.” – The Tennessean.
Hanna holds a Master’s Degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music (2014), where her operatic credits include Valencienne in Lehár’s THE MERRY WIDOW, Musetta LA BOHÈME, Semiramide SEMIRAMIDE and Nella GIANNI SCHICCHI. In 2011, Hanna received her Bachelor’s of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music where she appeared as the title-role of Nina in the U.S. premiere of Paisiello’s NINA, O SIA LA PAZZA PER AMORE. While in New York, Hanna performed regularly with the Oratorio Society as a choral scholar at Carnegie Hall. Recently, Hanna advanced as a semi-finalist in the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Amsterdam.
In her hometown of Traverse City, Michigan, Hanna gained recognition as a featured performer for Miracle Productions Theater Company. Over several seasons, Hanna appeared as Clara LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, Christine in Maury Yeston’s PHANTOM and as Prudy Pingleton HAIRSPRAY.
