Czech Soprano Karolína Plicková was born in Prague. She studied at the Prague Conservatory on the young talent department and continued her studies in opera, song and oratorio at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg where she succesfully graduated in 2010. Karolina made her UK debut in the virtuoso role of Cinna in Mozart’s LUCIO SILLA at the Buxton Festival, conducted by Laurence Cummings. Upcoming engagements include Simone Mayr’s BELLE CIARLE E TRISTI FATTI in Ingolstadt and the title-role IPHIGENIE IN AULIDE for the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre.
Between 2009-2013 Karolina was a regular ensemble member at the Landestheater Salzburg, where her roles included Susanna LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Ännchen DER FREISCHUTZ, the title-role Marcello’s ARIANA, Adina L’ELISIR D’AMORE, Zerlina DON GIOVANNI, Pamina DIE ZAUBERFLOTE, Ginevra ARIODANTE. In the 2010-2011 season she received a special audience award “Artist of the year” for her singing and acting qualities. In the summer of 2015, Karolina debuted as RUSALKA in Munich’s “Pasinger Fabrik” and inthe 2016 season, Karolina returned to the Pasinger Fabrik as Hélène in Offenbach’s operetta LA BELLE HELENE.
In 2004 Karolina made her operatic debut as Cherubino LE NOZZE DI FIGARO at the theatre in Karlovy Vary. In 2007 she won the first prize at the European Song Contest at the festival Styriarte, Graz. One year later Karolina had the honor to perform at the opening concert at the same festival, under the baton of Columbian conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada. During the summer of 2009, Karolina performed the role of Pamina DIE ZAUBERFLOTE at the Opera Festival Gut Immling. She was later chosen by the Mozarteum in Salzburg to perform Zerlina DON GIOVANNI on tour throughout China.
