Since winning first prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, George Mosley has performed with all the major UK opera companies in diverse roles such as Yamadori MADAMA BUTTERFLY, Marco GIANNI SCHICCHI, Sportsman FENNIMORE AND GERDA, The Duke of Albany LEAR, Henry THE FAIRY QUEEN, Orlofsky DIE FLEDERMAUS, Patroclus KING PRIAM and Father Wolf BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP which was also broadcast on BBC Television.

He has worked in many of the major Italian Opera Houses including Turin, La Scala, San Carlo, Rome, Palermo, La Fenice, Bologna, Pisa, Modena, Reggio Emilia and for RAI UNO, Torino.

He has appeared as Count CAPRICCIO for New York City Opera and Haly L’ITALIANA IN ALGIERI for Seattle Opera; and Fred Graham KISS ME, KATE for Teatro Regio Torino (a role he repeated at Teatro Massimo, Palermo). At Flanders Opera he sang Patroclus KING PRIAM, and at the Concertgebouw where he sang Apollo ALCESTE. He has sung Don Profundo IL VIAGGIO A REIMS, Quince A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, and Jesus Johannes Passion for New Israeli Opera.

Equally at home in more modern music, he was the baritone soloist in the world premiere recording of John Taverver’s ETERNITY’S SUNRISE with the Academy of Ancient Music for Harmonia Mundi, and which was nominated for a Grammy in Los Angeles. He created the roles of Joseph K in the world premiere of IL PROCESSO by Alberto Colla at Teatro Strehler for La Scala; the role of Architetto in IL LETTO DELLA STORIA (Fabio Vacchi) at Teatro Maggio Musicale di Firenze; and Pablo Picasso IL BANCHETTO (Marcello Panni) in Florence and Rome. He has appeared as Bill AUFSTIEG UND FALL DER STADT MAHAGONNY in Rome; as Junius THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA in Reggio Emila, Moderna and Parma; as God in Stravinsky’s THE FLOOD, and L’Horloge comptoise and Le Chat L’ENFANT ET LES SORTILEGES at Teatro delle Muse, Ancona.

He recently recorded and performed Splendiano DJAMILEH (Bizet) for Beethoven Festival Warsaw, and will appear as Colonel Pickering MY FAIR LADY with Oper Koln.
